Privacy Policy – Upkeep Pal

Upkeep Pal (“the App”) is provided by Everyday ManTech LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App accesses, stores, uses, and shares information when you use Upkeep Pal.

1. What the App does

Upkeep Pal is a maintenance tracking app designed to help users manage home, vehicle, inventory, tool, schedule, and maintenance records. The App is designed primarily for on-device use, with optional features such as calendar sync, image capture, web-assisted lookup, and backup/export features.

2. Information the App may access or store

Depending on which features you use, the App may access or store the following types of information:

Maintenance schedules, work entries, notes, and history that you enter manually
Asset, vehicle, tool, inventory, and part information that you enter manually
Photos or images that you capture with the camera or select from your device
Calendar-related information if you enable Google Calendar sync
Backup files that contain your app data if you choose to export or back up the app’s data
Technical settings and local configuration data needed for app functionality

3. How information is stored

The App is designed to store user data locally on your device by default. Based on the code reviewed, the app includes local-storage behavior and on-device persistence for maintenance, asset, inventory, tool, history, and vehicle records.

4. When data may leave the device

Some optional features may transmit data off your device, including:

Google Calendar sync: If enabled, maintenance-related calendar data and associated account/calendar information may be transmitted to Google services so the App can create or manage calendar events.
Web-assisted search and lookup: If you use the app’s part search, asset part search, VIN decoding, or recall lookup features, search terms or lookup values may be sent to third-party websites or public APIs such as search engines or vehicle information services.
Backup or export features: If you choose a backup mode using a synced folder such as Google Drive for desktop or OneDrive desktop sync, your app data may be written to files in those folders and then synced by those services under your own account configuration.

5. Third-party services

Depending on the features you choose to use, the App may interact with third-party services such as:

Google Calendar
Google Drive desktop sync folders
Microsoft OneDrive desktop sync folders
Public vehicle information APIs
External websites used for part or product search

These third-party services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

6. Photos and images

If you choose to capture or select images in the App, those images may be stored locally in the App’s data or records. If you use backup/export features, those images may also be included in backed-up data.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We may transmit or allow transmission of user data only as needed to provide optional features you choose to use, such as calendar sync, web-assisted lookup, or backup/export workflows.

8. Data retention and deletion

Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the App, or overwrite it through app actions. If you create backup files, those files may remain in your chosen storage location until you delete them there.

If you use third-party services such as Google Calendar or cloud-synced folders, you may also need to delete associated data from those services separately.

9. Security

We aim to use reasonable measures to protect user data within the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. If you enable third-party sync or backup features, the security of that transmitted or stored data also depends on the services you use.
